The inside width and length dimensions are 7.25-inch x 8-inch. Outside dimensions are: 12.75D x 8.75W x 22.50H. Roof is hinged and the side opens for cleaning. Comes with wood shavings. This house comes with shavings because normally these birds do not bring anything but feathers to the nest. All houses need to be cleaned out before the next season starts. We suggest doing it in the spring so the birds can roost in them during the winter.
